Floyd "Robin" Keith

June 26, 1950 ~ January 30, 2026

Robin Keith, age 75, passed away Jan. 30, 2026 from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and Parkinson’s.

Born on June 26, 1950 in Dillon, South Carolina, Robin graduated from Clemson University in 1972 with a degree in History. In 1973, he joined the US Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. After his service in the Army, he returned to Columbia, SC and became a firefighter. In 1985, he furthered his education at the University of South Carolina and earned a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology. In 1988, he moved to St. Paul, MN to continue graduate studies in Agronomy at the U of M. In 1992, he began a 28-year career as a molecular biologist at BioTechne. As a side venture in 1996, he created a micro-business producing HiLo DNA markers, a tool used to measure the size of DNA fragments.

Robin was also a talented tennis player, biking enthusiast, avid gardener, aspiring artist, and a passionate reader of all genres, especially historical fiction, political espionage, climate change, and natural resource conservation.

At the center of his life was his loving wife, Linda. Their love story was built on cherished memories, lifelong companionship, and deep mutual respect.

Robin was a gentleman who modeled kindness, loyalty, and truth. He always made time to listen to others, to ponder the world around us, and to appreciate the wonder of nature.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Celebration of life Friday, February 20, at Lakewood Cemetery’s Garden Mausoleum, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., Mpls., gathering at 11 AM, and SendOff at Noon.

Memorials preferred to Compassion & Choices and MPR/PBS.
