Age 79 of Maplewood.
Loving sister, aunt, great aunt & friend finished the race peacefully surrounded by family on April 11, 2025. Preceded in death by husband, Gerald Olson; parents, Clarence & Shirley; brothers, Warren, Wayne & Arlen; Survived by sister, Katherine (James) Dix; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Pedersen; nieces, nephews, great nieces.
Kayleen loved nature and the outdoors. She enjoyed reading, gatherings with family,
walking in her nearby park and taking care of her two cats for 20 years. Kayleen graduated from Luck High School in Luck, WI and then completed her education at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She worked as an accountant for the state of MN for 39 years.
Married late in life, she began exercising and running races in her 50’s with her husband. She completed a dozen plus marathons, other 10k races, biked area trails and attended theater productions and orchestra concerts. She continued enjoying the outdoors, walking and running even after her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s.
Kayleen’s life will be celebrated with a SendOff at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 20th with visitation beginning at 10 AM at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel, 803 Larpenteur Ave. W., Roseville. Interment 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 21st at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, assembly area #6. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Brighton Hospice, Ice Age Trail or Alzheimer’s Association.
