Fun at the Lex
Not to brag, but we threw one heck of a party!
In April we held our St. Paul Area Chamber Ribbon Cutting at The Lexington in St. Paul and we invited our supporters to join us. For over 75 years, The Lexington has hosted many milestone celebrations, and its stately elegance made for a lovely backdrop for our ribbon cutting.

In addition to the grand surroundings of the Williamsburg Room, we had Phil Thompson, WCCO’s Man About Town, set the tone taking requests at the piano. Many couldn’t help but sing along!
Our Event Curator, Julie Gilmer, worked with The Lexington bartenders to craft two signature cocktails, the SendOff Sipper and the YOLO (You Only Live Once). Along with the tasty sips, there was a spread of delicious food.
A Sample SendOff
Our favorite part of the event was all of the lively conversation. People from all different walks of life gathered together to learn about how we’re reimagining funerals.
We asked our guests to write on their name tag one element they’d like at their own SendOff, it was a fun conversation starter. We loved seeing the creative ideas people shared, everything from a chocolate fountain to young Elvis!
We were there to commemorate the launch of SendOff but the event also served as an example of what a SendOff can be. There were lots of connections made, end-of-life conversations had, and laughter shared. This was the good stuff, what a sendoff is all about. It was proof that deep conversations and belly laughs can coexist.
We are grateful for the people who came to support our mission and to our partners who work alongside us in this space. The Lexington is one of our venue partners and they were fabulous hosts. If you’ve never been there or it’s been a while, we encourage you to visit for dinner or a drink on their rooftop patio! It is a true gem in the Twin Cities.
If you were there we hope you had a wonderful time. Here’s a photo gallery recap of the event.
